Math:
We began our new unit on Friday: Money. Kindergarten will continue to work with coins through the last week of school. The Money unit is a capstone for Kindergarten as it includes counting by ones, fives and tens. We will also be using the strategy of counting on and continuing to explore tens and ones. Help your child continue to learn about coins this summer by encouraging them to count your pocket change. Each student should have a baggie of 10 pennies, 20 nickels, 10 dimes and 4 quarters.
History:
This past week in History, we reviewed our continents. Next week, we will discuss all the previously learned material.
Literature:
Our story time with the mouse comes to an end; however, next we will get to learn about a grasshopper who goes on a long journey and opens our eyes to some important life lessons.
We will be reading 6 great works of literature as a grade level.
