Scholars have been working consistently on The Little Red Hen. When scholars return from the break, we will be reading the short story: Little Red Riding Hood. Scholars are free to wear their favorite red cloak or huntsman’s hat/cap on Friday, October 30th. Scholar will be memorizing “Sing A Song of Sixpence” poem:
Sing a Song of Sixpence
A Mother Goose Poem
Sing a song of sixpence, a pocket full of rye;
four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened, the birds began to sing;
Wasn’t that a dainty dish to set before the king?
The king was in his counting-house
counting out his money;
The queen was in the parlor
Eating bread and honey.
The maid was in the garden hanging out the clothes,
Along came a blackbird and pecked off her nose.
Scholars will continue the read aloud Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle by Betty MacDonald.
