Math:
Last week in Math, Kindergarten Mathematicians continued their exploration of length and size. We focused on standards of measurement and discussed why certain non standards of measurement are not reliable and consistent.
This week we will continue to investigate length and size by focusing on comparing and contrasting objects of different sizes using positional words and adjectives incorporating precise mathematical vocabulary and utilizing complete sentences to accurately convey information.

Tornadoes.
Our
scholars will continue our Weather unit and will learn about the following
natural disasters, Hurricanes, Earthquakes and Tsunami’s. We will also wrap up
our weather and seasons topic with an end of unit assessment and Copy Artwork

Literature
Last week in Literature, scholars journeyed through the fairy tale “King Midas and The Golden Touch” where they learned a lesson on being content with what you have.
This week we will continue with a well known fairy tale “Snow White” by Brothers Grimm:

Scholars will be memorizing “The Three Little Kittens” part 2. They will recite both parts of Friday 12/18:
Three Little Kittens
By Eliza Lee Follen
The three little kittens put on their mittens,
and soon ate up the pie:
"Oh mother dear,
We greatly fear
That we have soiled our mittens!"
"Soiled your mittens!
you naughty kittens!"
Then they began to sigh,
"Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow.'
Then they began to sigh,
"Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow."
The three little kittens washed their mittens.
and hung them out to dry;
"Oh mother dear,
do not you hear
that we have washed our mittens?"
"Washed your mittens!
Oh, you're good kittens!
But I smell a rat close by,
Hush, hush! Mee-ow, mee-ow."
"We smell a rat close by,
Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow."
Scholar’s will continue the read aloud with “The Mouse and The Motorcycle”.
Our Virtue for the month of December is Friendship.
We regard others and ourselves as deserving of kind and just treatment. Our conduct is considerate and polite. We look for the good in others and demonstrate compassion. Our attitudes toward others and their property reflect the way we wish to be treated. Be the best for others.
