Math:

We have wrapped up our unit on number bonds.  Kindergarten mathematicians will now delve into addition!   You can help your child at home by making up simple addition stories and then encouraging them to make up a story of their own.  For example:  I was at the playground.  Three of my friends were there too.  How many people are at the playground?

History:

This past week in History we were introduced to presidents and learned about our 1st president George Washington! Next week we will continue learning about presidents. We will be focusing on Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln.

Science:
We are introducing animal classification.  We will be able to discover and learn about characteristics of birds and insects.  All birds have wings but do all of them use wings to fly?  Why do insects have hard bodies?

Literature:

What an exciting time learning about soups and stew and sharing.  Now it’s time to learn about “The Story of Ping”.  We will follow this little duck as he travels to find his family, and learn about the virtue of bravery.

Our read out loud right now is Stuart Little.

Virtue of the month for March: Perseverance
