Hello Kinder! We are done with week 2. We are so proud of all of you. We are definitely noticing how much you are learning when we have our small groups!
- Parents, please see the
stream of your scholars google classroom daily for an updated agenda for
the day. This will help guide your scholar while doing their work to
ensure everything is being done and turned in. It will also help you when
you are checking your scholars work to make sure that nothing was
forgotten about or missed. - We are working very hard
to provide your scholar with feedback to all of the work being turned in.
In order to see how your student is doing on assignments turned in follow
the steps provided below; - In Google Classroom on the web, available
classes display after you sign in. Click on or tap a class, then
Classwork (from the top menu), then View My Work. When you see a small
speech bubble next to an assignment that means a teacher has left a
comment for your scholar. - In the Google Classroom app on iOS or
Android, tap a class, tap Classwork, then tap the student work icon in
the upper-right hand corner of the screen. - Each assignment is listed with its status
(e.g., Assigned, Turned In, or Missing) and due date, if added. If
available, grades also display on this screen, although not all assignments
will have a score associated with it.

Next week, we will continue working on isolating beginning and ending sounds and will work with middle sounds in words. In addition, we will practice capital letters in the alphabet, discuss top line, mid-point and baseline. Scholars will be introduced to the following phonograms: f, g ,s, qu, and will learn about diagonal lines and rhyming words.
Math:
It has been a joy to hear our scholars use their mathematical vocabulary while sharing items that are identical, similar, different as well as showing objects that are used together. Kindergarten mathematicians will end Unit 1, Match and Sort, on Tuesday with a unit review.
Unit 2, Numbers to Five, begins on Wednesday. We will be counting objects and matching sets of objects to the corresponding numeral up to 4 next week. The children will begin to cut out their number cards. Extension Activity: have your student find sets of objects and match the number in the set to the correct numeral on the number card.
Next week, please submit the following assignments to your child’s teacher:
Monday: p. 18 Tuesday: pgs. 19-21 Thursday: p. 25
Scholars will be introduced to a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting Goldilocks and Baby Bear.
History This week in History, our scholars learned about Map Keys/Legends and created their own map key for a room in their home! Scholars also learned about Cardinal Directions and the Compass Rose. Next week, our scholars will be introduced to rivers, lakes and gulfs and how they are represented on a map as well as learn about the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Scholars will wrap up the week with a history activity for Friday’s early release.
