Kinder Blog 22 Nov.

Hello Kinder!  What a busy week we had!  The handprints went up on the new building this week.  We made suncatchers, we saw a rainbow with water and a mirror in Science, had our Literature Character parade ended our week.  I'm sure our youngest scholar are tired and will have a well deserved week off.

Joke of the week:
I have fingers and a thumb but no flesh and no bones.  What am I?

Last week's answer:
The sea.

Spalding: Math: This week in mathematics our scholars will continue to learn about patterns.  In previous lessons we investigated and continued patterns based on color, shape, and size.  On Monday we will look at patterns that are arranged by orientation.  Wednesday we will have our unit test and then begin our new unit on Length and Size.

Literature:

This week we will return to our short story series with  The Gingerbread Baby and The Gingerbread Man. Scholars will be exploring the differences and similarities of the two stories.

The poem for this week will be “Little Jack Horner”

LITTLE JACK HORNER

Little Jack Horner

Sat in a corner,

Eating his Christmas pie;

He put in his thumb,

And pulled out a plum,

And said, “What a good boy am I!”

History:
This past week in History, we began our unit on Pilgrims and why they left Europe.
Our scholars will continue our Pilgrims unit and will learn about the journey of the Mayflower, the Mayflower Compact and Plymouth Rock.

Science:
In Science, we began our Weather unit and learned about clouds, precipitation and thunderstorms. Our scholars will continue the Weather unit and will earn about each of the four seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn (Fall).

HIghlights KD: Suncatchers created by DL Scholars - Elvalina, Oriana and Alisa.  Great job!
